An idyllic coastal retreat for any season

From this quintessential Cornish cottage in the historic harbour town of Mevagissey you will find much of beauty and interest to explore. There are many walks that can be enjoyed, setting out on foot and leaving behind the tranquil garden and the comforts of the pretty bedrooms and log fire,  you will have easy access to the walks along the coastal path or slightly inland to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. There is parking at the cottage for two cars so you also have the option of exploring further afield should you so desire. Also nearby are  The Eden Project, Fowey harbour and the Roseland Peninsula. In the micro-climate of the Roseland  lies the popular village of  St. Mawes with its medieval castle and sailing boats and the wonderfully exotic churchyard at St. Just In Roseland with its palms and tree ferns and its legend of Joseph of Arimathea.

Close to Mevagissey harbour, the cottage sleeps six in a quiet location, with garden and parking.

With or without a car, a stay at Chorister’s Cottage provides a unique location. There are three bedrooms, it sleeps 6 and is just five minutes walk to Mevagissey harbour shops, pubs and restaurants. Buy fresh fish from the quayside and local produce to cook yourself from the excellent Lobbs Farm shop at Heligan and our brilliant village grocer William Moore. The cottage is within walking distance of the local beach and Heligan Gardens. It is a short drive from The Eden Project and Caerhays Castle Gardens.

Keen walkers can set out on foot from the cottage to explore the South West Coast Path; discover the hidden coves and the natural beauty of wild beaches and cliff tops.  Polstreath and Pentewan are to the east and Port Mellon, Gorran Haven, Vault, Hemmick and Porthluny to the west.

There is parking for two cars. A short drive or boat trip away are the harbour towns of Charlestown and Fowey.

Enjoy relaxing in the pretty cottage garden or in cooler months put your feet up by the fire. Alternatively take a stroll into Mevagissey harbour where there are a number of pubs and restaurants offering fresh local seafood and other local produce. During summer months you will also find a variety of kiosks in the harbour offering a selection of internationally inspired cuisine. You may even catch Mevagissey's male voice choir singing in the harbour or in the Fountain Inn.
